UDO TRIBUTE BAND

HITS, CLASSICS AND RARITIES BY THE UNFORGOTTEN UDO JÜRGENS

DOUBLE CONCERT FOR UDO'S 90TH BIRTHDAY, PART 1 + 2

UDO JÜRGENS was born in Klagenfurt. That is well known. A large part of the UDO TRIBUTE BAND also comes from the Klagenfurt area. GERT PRIX, mastermind of the UDO TRIBUTE BAND, was also born in Klagenfurt and attended the same conservatory as the great entertainer.

The UDO TRIBUTE BAND was founded back in 2011 and had the full approval of the unique artist. He made this known in a personal letter, a silent distinction and a great honour for the entire band.

Even as a child, Gert Prix played the legendary Udo hits of the sixties - then still called chansons - on the piano, much to the annoyance of his piano professor, who - as was customary at the time - drew a strict line between serious and popular music. A boundary that Udo repeatedly dissolved in his life's work and very successfully declared superfluous.

The fact that Gert even shared the stage with Udo himself for an entire evening when he was almost 20 years old was perhaps the unconscious spark that led to the founding of the UDO TRIBUTE BAND a few decades later.

The other members of the UDO TRIBUTE BAND, some older and some younger, also found their personal connection to the huge repertoire of the most successful German-speaking singer's more than 50-year career in the course of their lives.

Over the course of two evenings, the eight-strong UDO TRIBUTE BAND presented the entire spectrum, from the largely well-known beginnings to genuine rarities and the unrivalled classics of the great entertainer UDO JÜRGENS, with both respect and passion.

UDO TRIBUTE BAND - a musical tribute to the great UDO JÜRGENS.

Ana Paula da Silva Celebrates Anniversary with Tour of Austria

The Brazilian singer, songwriter and instrumentalist Ana Paula da Silva is returning to Austrian and European stages with her quintet to celebrate her 20th anniversary.

She became known in this country with productions and performances with world-class jazz and crossover musicians such as Joe Zawinul, Alegre Corrêa, Karl Hodina, Martin Reiter and Wolfgang Muthspiel.

With her own songs, she fuses the Brazilian musical tradition with contemporary genre-bending elements.

In the course of her now 27-year international career, Ana Paula da Silva has released seven albums, a DVD and a songbook with her compositions. She lives in her birthplace in the south of Brazil and regularly travels around the world. Her artistic work crosses borders and she has received several prestigious international awards.

She completed her master's degree in music, specialising in creative processes, at the State University of Santa Catarina. Last year, she won the Brazilian Music Award in the "Best Singer" category in Rio de Janeiro.

In autumn 2024, the Salzburg concert agency X-Promotion is bringing Ana Paula da Silva to Europe in a quintet line-up. In her anniversary show, she will play music from her native Brazil in her own interpretation, inspired by music from all over the world, but always with great respect, love and passion for her country and fellow human beings. The tour programme includes songs from her latest album REMANSO.

Markus Wutte & Band

It goes on and on

Singer-songwriter and guitarist Markus Wutte has long been an integral part of the local music scene. He picked up his first guitar at the age of ten, gained his first band experience at 13 and has been writing his own songs since the age of 14, regularly performing on stage with various bands and solo projects.

After numerous commissioned productions and his English album
Mosaic, he began to explore dialect lyrics. With his first Austropop single Olles hot sei Zeit (Everything Has Its Time), the Carinthian landed his first regional number 1 hit.

This formed the basis for his dialect album Weniger ist mehr (Less is more), from which a total of nine tracks found their way onto the playlists of Austrian radio stations.

Many songs from the following albums ZWA (Two), Anfoch so (Just Like That) and Es geht immer weiter (It Goes On And On) also became part of the music programme of numerous radio stations and present the typical Wutte variety, ranging from Austropop to pop-rock songs and virtuoso instrumental pieces.

This variety is fun for both the audience and the musicians themselves - and you can see and hear it!

THE STARS

Friday 13 Sept 2024 20:00

Stars

Pop History: Rolling Stones

If you look at the STONES' current live concerts, you realise that there are a lot of great musicians on stage alongside the masters themselves. Firstly, of course, there is Daryll Jones, the great bassist of the Stones, as well as Chuck Leavall, the brilliant pianist, organist and arranger. Or the long-time boss of the backing choir, Lisa Fisher (sadly no longer with them), who sang Mick to the ground from time to time. Not forgetting Keith's old mate, saxophonist Bobby Keys (RIP Bobby). The list goes on and on.

Some critics claim that the STONES only go to such lengths so that it's not so noticeable if 'Keef' misses the mark again ;-) THE STARS believe otherwise: Mick, Keef, Ronny and Charlie (RIP) simply enjoy playing live with these fantastic musicians! After 60 years (!) in showbiz with many ups and downs, the guys simply want to present their extensive musical repertoire perfectly - and that requires this large line-up.

This is exactly the crux of the matter. It's all about authenticity! THE STARS are not so presumptuous as to seriously compare themselves with their idols. Nevertheless, they present the fat and varied sound of STONES live concerts and their show as perfectly as possible. As true fans, they don't just want to offer the well-known hits, but also present rarer songs from the STONES' huge repertoire.

SCHOOL'S OUT

Friday 28 June 2024 20:00

School's Out

The annual end of school party for adults

It has been a cult event for years and is somehow indispensable: the end-of-school party for adults!

This year, the School's Out Band has once again rummaged through the hit lists of the last six decades and selected real summer hit highlights for this end-of-school party.

A Bright Red Rubber Boat collides with Italian tearjerkers, Summer Wine is served in a Piccola E Fragile bouteille, and finally, there's no doubt that the Summer Of '69 reminds us of the best summers of our lives for a reason...

:- )

And the same applies in 2024: Summer Splash - let's be charitable!

All School's Out artists are waiving their fees in these difficult times, and as usual, all proceeds will be donated to a charitable project. And there are more than enough of them this year too...

ERLEND KRAUSER

Friday 21 June 2024 20:00

Erlend Krauser

Solo

Erlend Krauser was the solo guitarist in JAMES LAST's orchestra from 1992 until James Last's death in 2015.

From 1979 to 1981 he was the solo guitarist in the band LAKE, recorded the LP Hot Day with Lake and toured Germany twice with the band.

Since 1980 he has worked as a studio guitarist, composed film and advertising music, released seven of his own CDs and produced other artists.

Erlend Krauser is known for the extraordinary guitar technique he has developed, which enables him to play extremely expressively and dynamically. Here is a YouTube video that illustrates what this means:

ERLEND KRAUSER - SOLO is Erlend's new live programme. A solo performance of pieces from his CDs and some solos that he developed in collaboration with James Last.

FAHRENHEIT

Fahrenheit Project

2024

Wasn't there something many years ago? Yes, I've heard of it, but it was a long time ago, but...

Yes, that was the Carinthian answer to Europe in the 80s. FAHRENHEIT won the Newcomer '87 competition organised by music magazine Tschin Bumm in 1987.

With their debut single You and I, FAHRENHEIT made it into the Austrian charts and were able to hold their own there for months. This was followed by their debut album Talking 'bout love with the singles Danger, Turn me loose, and Talkin bout love.

Almost 33 years later, the FAHRENHEIT PROJECT was born. "These songs have to be played live again" - under this motto, FAHRENHEIT PROJECT 2024 let it rip with rock hits from the 80s & 90s.

Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich

The Legend of Xanadu

Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich -  the unspeakable stars of the sixties, who occasionally knocked the Beatles off the top spot... and still shine on every serious radio station today.

Between December 1965 and May 1969, DBM&T spent a sensational 141 weeks in the UK charts with 13 major hit singles and sold out tours in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Europe. In 1967, they even won the Golden Bravo Otto as the most popular band in Europe!

Unfortunately, frontman Dave Dee was not as immortal as their legendary songs are. His death in 2009 meant that these heartbreakers of the sixties have since re-formed and are now performing their hits

Zabadak, Hold Tight, The Legend Of Xanadu, Bend It, Don Juan, Last Night In Soho, Touch Me Touch Me, Hideaway, The Wreck Of The Antoinette, Okay, and and and...

live.

An iconic concert (not only) for the boomer generation!

More Colors Of Music

Peter Mayr is no stranger to regular visitors to the EBOARDMUSEUM.

Peter Mayr also played some concerts with IAN PAICE (Deep Purple) in Austria and Spain.

He is also a frequent guest on stage at the EBOARDMUSEUM. With his formation PETER MAYR PROJECT, this time he brings pop rock jazz fusion - sounds à la Deep Purple to Joe Zawinul.

CENTRAL PARK

Central Park

Rock Magic!

The progressive rock legend CENTRAL PARK brings the spirit of yesteryear into the here and now. Founded in 1983, the band quickly played their way to the top of the German prog rock league, competing with international greats like Yes and Marillion , as well as neo-prog representatives Saga and Asia.

CENTRAL PARK are reminiscent of an era in the 70s, when bands like King Crimson, Genesis and Emerson, Lake & Palmer were enthroned on the musical Olympus and pretended what sound art was. The four musicians of CENTRAL PARK handle their instruments with all virtuosity. Harmonic basics and instrumentation lead to a fusion of rock and jazz with occidental classical music. Their songs do not simply consist of verse and chorus.

CENTRAL PARK shine with a grandiose mixture of rhythm and power bombast, with sophisticated pieces about gods and gardens, earthly life and US presidents. In doing so, they take their audience on a journey into the almost forgotten realm of opulent arrangements far from the mainstream. Progressive playing with catchy melodies and thoughtful lyrics take the listener into a magical world of sound art. CENTRAL PARK are supported by the charismatic singer Bärbel Kober, who expresses her energetic and extraordinary voice in a wide range.

CENTRAL PARK's immortal music is a powerful assault on the senses, a musical journey through time that invites you to rock out and dream in equal measure. Joining the band for the first time as a new guitarist is Munich veteran SCHORSCH HAMPEL, who is a household name for many in the local blues scene.

Music from Italy was and is still underestimated in our country or put in the drawer "spaghetti pop".

There is another way. SEGRETO show with their italian rock-program a mixture of well known and maybe unknown songs of various italian artists like  Zucchero, Vasco Rossi, Antonacci Biagio, Lucio Battisti, Nek, Le Vibrazioni etc., how good ITALO-ROCK can be...

By the way, the singer of SEGRETO, the Carinthian by choice PAOLO SCARIANO, a marine biologist and trained opera singer, has just sung his way into the ▸ Final of the ORF "Große Chance" (Grand Chance).

Peter Ratzenbeck

Gwendolyn

"He can easily replace an orchestra with his acoustic guitar... His concerts in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Ireland and England offer listening pleasure at the highest level. 19 of his own albums and around 25 studio productions with renowned musicians prove him to be one of Austria's best guitarists.
Peter Ratzenbeck, the self-taught guitarist who still can't read music, dropped out of school at the age of 17 and travelled through Scotland and Germany as a street musician.
Today, his concerts are sold out and the musician is celebrated by critics as a "master of fine motor skills", a "lover of quiet resonances" and a "gentle giant among guitarists"."

Jinz Janisch, ORF, in "Menschenbilder": "Mr. Fingerpicking - The guitarist Peter Ratzenbeck"

The coronavirus pandemic may have restricted Peter Ratzenbeck's concert activities, but not his creativity. During this time, he created a number of new pieces that he finally wanted to have documented. The Wavegarden studio was reserved for March 2022, and now it's here, his new CD GWENDOLIN, which he is presenting also at the EBOARDMUSEUM.

90 years of the Hammond organ

In this exceptional concert, the EBOARDMUSEUM, probably the world's first port of call for the legendary B 3, was honouring the 90th birthday of the Hammond organ, without which there would probably be no EBOARDMUSEUM.

THOMAS GULZ, who has won many international awards (including the European winner of the Yamaha Electone Festival 1993), was travelling a long way especially for this concert to blow out ninety birthday candles in a fabulous programme with a unique sound.

ANDI RIEGLER on drums 'n' percussion provided the indispensable swing.

HOLUB PRIX

100 years of Holub and Prix

And that's not even taking into account their first joint appearance in 1973 at the Klagenfurt City Theatre, which admittedly only left an insignificant cultural mark.   :-)

Since 1974, Rolf Holub and Gert Prix have been travelling together in the high four-digit range (unfortunately this does not refer to the fee, but to the number of events), and have entertained several generations quite well with cult bands such as THREE TIGHT or the still current BEACH BAND...

The secret of this quasi golden wedding? Well, both have created artistic freedom for themselves and regularly go off the beaten track. And so you can also expect to see a number of star guests in this Saturday main evening programme!

NICK SIMPER

Friday 05 April 2024 20:00

Nick Simper and Nasty Habits

Nick Simper, bassist and founding member of Deep Purple

If this band were to perform under the name DEEP PURPLE, one could not deny it a certain justification, because here, as in the current DEEP PURPLE line-up, exactly one member of the original line-up is still playing. In the case of the well-known band, it's IAN PAICE on drums, and here it's his former rhythm colleague NICK SIMPER on bass.

In fact, Nick Simper recorded the first three LPs of the band in the Mark I line-up and played a not insignificant part in the band's first successes. So it was Nick Simper who had the idea to cover the Joe South composition Hush. It became DEEP PURPLE's first (and last) No.1 hit in the US charts.

In 2008 Simper accepted an invitation from the band NASTY HABITS to revive his DEEP PURPLE past musically. Since then, NICK SIMPER & NASTY HABITS have played numerous gigs in clubs and festivals in Europe and released three CDs and a live LP.

In the EBOARDMUSEUM mainly Deep Purple Mark1 songs will be played, but also rocking own compositions, as well as titles from Nick Simper's musical past (Warhorse, Johnny Kidd).

ÜBER DEN WOLKEN (Above The Clouds)

ALFRED HASELMAIER AND GERHARD EGGER SING REINHARD MEY

At the age of 16, ALFRED HASELMAIER attended his first Reinhard Mey concert and immediately fixed a big goal: to sing a recital of Reinhard Mey's songs one day.

It took almost a third of a century to make this dream come true, but now Haselmaier is successfully touring with this project.

Haselmaier in no way wants to be perceived as a Reinhard Mey imitator. Rather, he wants to present in his own way, with his personal warmth, the songs of that musician who has musically influenced him the most.

Together with his companion, the instrumental pedagogue and concert guitarist  GERHARD EGGER, he creates an exciting atmosphere that takes the listeners on an emotional journey into the world of Reinhard Mey - sometimes even above the clouds.

THE SOUND OF CARLOS S.

Friday 1 March 2024 20:00

The Sound Of Carlos S

A Tribute To Carlos Santana

The music of "The Sound of Carlos S." combines elements of popular music and jazz with Afro-Cuban rhythms.

Guitarist HANNES SEIDL, drummer TOMMY BÖRÖCZ and percussionist ANDI STEIRER have spent long periods of time in South America, where they were able to sammenarbeiten in various projects with native musicians. The fascination of Afro-Cuban rhythms and the "alegría" inherent in lateinamerikanisch music eventually led to the formation of the band "The Sound of Carlos S.".

"The Sound of Carlos S." sounds like the Latin rock band Santana and, in addition to the evergreens, also performs lesser-known works that exude all the more Latin flair.

Due to illness, we had to postpone the concert of our Sixties superstars DOZY, BEAKY, MICK & TICH to 11 October 2024.

We had a worthy and also thematically perfect replacement, who flew in from the United Kingdom especially for this one and only concert:

CCRR - Creedence Clearwater Revival Revival - from Yorkshire came with the greatest hits of Woodstock legend John Fogerty's CCR, who still represent the soundtrack of many generations today:
